Violet Twp. Fire & EMS

-

Background

Each time a fire fighter went out on a call or and EMS technician went out to help an injured patient, all information that was recorded about the incident was done manually on a preprinted form and then entered into a computer system when the fire fighter or EMS technician returned to the station. Often times the information entered was inaccurate or not legible and could not be entered into their system properly.

Problem

The problems the current situation created were it would take longer to transport patients to the hospital and to complete a fire run, state reporting was not accurate and Violet Township lost revenue.

Solution

By implementing Getac V110 fully rugged convertible laptops docked in their apparatus, Violet Township was now able to enter information about a fire run or EMS incident as it occurred. No longer did information have to be entered when an individual returned to the station at the end of the call.  Information was more accurate and it was quicker to collect which resulted in more patients being transported to a hospital on a daily basis, fire runs were completed quicker and Violet Township got back the revenue they were losing.

-

Background

Prolift Industrial Equipment is a full-service forklift and material handling dealership who’s main headquarters is located in Louisville, KY and has 7 other locations across the Midwest. They provide forklifts and forklift parts along with repairs and service for their products. They have 350+ employees and multiple product lines they offer.

Problem

Prolift was looking for a tablet with some degree of ruggedness that their salespeople as well as their field technicians could use for inventory purposes along with various reporting that would fit their budget.

Solution

MobileTEK provided the Fujitsu Q736 Semi-Rugged Tablet with detachable keyboard and an external bar code scanner for their warehouse employees. This solution allowed them to become more efficient and accurate when processing inventory which saved them money. The Q736 also allowed their salespeople to take pictures on site of various forklift setups and take notes rather than having to use pen and paper and inputting that information when they return to the office.

Franklin County Sheriff

-

Background

Franklin County Sheriff serves as a law enforcement official, collects the county property taxes, provides court security, and other services required by statute. Located in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky with the state capital of Frankfort at its center, Franklin County Sheriff has about 15 squads outfitted with computers and mobile printers.

Problem

Franklin County Sheriff was having issues with their older units running slow and crashing while officers were in the field, decreasing productivity, doubling the officer’s workload, and making traffic stops last longer than necessary. They needed a unit that would be faster than the old units, but still fit into their tight budget.

Solution

MobileTEK provided them with the Refurbished Panasonic CF-53 Semi-rugged laptop, new Brother PocketJet printers, and Driver’s License Barcode scanners. Buying Refurbished units allowed them to saving money on the computers themselves while still having computers that will perform better than their old ones. This also allowed them to get new printers for citations and simplifying the process by purcasing Driver’s License scanners to quickly populate their citation fields.
